Finalizing the upper frame and prepping for all applied components, lights, doors, hinges, locks, ladders. Everything will be removed and the frame will be final finished, primed and painted ‘orange’.
The snowcat is complete waiting for upper frame. We hope to paint this weekend, attach the upper frame to the snowcat and finally call it ‘The Chariot’.
Once together, we will again break into two teams, one applying the exterior facing and trim and the second installing the interior.
All props, scanner, radar, solar panel, dash and Chariot rifles are being worked as well.
We work on the project a few hours each day and Saturday mornings. We are still currently on schedule for some time in June. The build started with very visible progress but slowed over the past ten days with detail work. Much visible progress will be made in the next few weeks and the Chariot will really come alive.
Point of Interest: In all series images where Don is at the domed gun hatch, with rifle in hand, the hatch is never fully open. We found out the reason for this the same way the Fox fabricators did in 1965. The dome runs into their ‘fancy’ luggage rack.
Thanks to all our friends on Facebook for the great support and we hope to see everyone soon to tell stories and share memories.
